Apple Butter- Version 2 ________________________________________ Note: To thicken, if not thick enough, return to slow cooker and cook on High uncovered until desired consistency. YIELD: Makes 3-4 pints. ________________________________________ Servings – 3 to 4 Pints Prep Time - 25 Minutes Cook Time – Low 18 Hours ________________________________________ Ingredients: • apples -- cut up, enough to fill 3 1/2 qt. crock pot • 1 cup brown sugar • 1 cup apple cider • juice of 1 lemon • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Instructions: 1. Cut blemishes off apples and cut into chunks to fill 3 1/2 qt. crock pot. 2. Add sugar, cider and lemon juice. 3. Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours. 4. Stir. 5. Add cinnamon and cook on low another 10 hours. 6. Stir occasionally until brown. 7. Run through food mill or any strainer to strain out seeds and skins.
