Apple Butter – Version 3 ________________________________________ Servings – 8 to 10 Pints Prep Time - 25 Minutes Cook Time – High 3 hours Low 8 to 10 Hours ________________________________________ Ingredients: • 4 quarts unsweetened applesauce • 7 cups granulated sugar • 1-1/3 cups brown sugar • 5-1/3 tablespoons cider vinegar • 5-1/3 tablespoons lemon juice • 2 teaspoon cinnamon • 2 teaspoon allspice • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions: 1. Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker. 2. Cover and cook on high 3 hours, stirring occasionally. 3. Remove lid and continue cooking on low 8 to 10 hours, stirring occasionally until excess liquid cooks away. 4. Seal mixture in hot jars and process in a hot water bath for 10 minutes.
